Facebook content monetization earnings calculator
Facebook now pays creators for reels, longer videos, photos and text posts through one program, but each format earns a very different amount per view. Enter your monthly views and the earnings per 1,000 views for each format, plus the share of views that qualify, and this calculator estimates your monthly payout. It also shows which format earns most per view, so you know where an extra post pays off.
Earnings per 1,000 views by format
Your rates side by side. A view on the lime format is worth the most to you.
What each format brings in
Your views, payout and share of total income in each format, plus what one million more qualifying views would add.

How the payout is estimated
Each format is treated separately, because a reel view and a long video view are paid very differently. Only views that qualify count.
The rates are yours to set. Start with the defaults and replace them with the earnings per 1,000 views in your Professional Dashboard.

Facebook content monetization questions
How does Facebook Content Monetization pay?
Meta's Content Monetization program brings together payouts for reels, longer videos, photos and text posts in one place. Earnings are based on how your content performs, including views and engagement, and on ad demand. Meta does not publish fixed rates, so every estimate, including this one, works from typical earnings per 1,000 views.
How much does Facebook pay per 1,000 views?
Creators commonly report a few cents to a few tens of cents per 1,000 views on reels and photo posts, and more on longer videos that carry in-stream ads, often $1 or more. Rates vary hugely with audience location, niche and season. Replace the defaults with the figures in your Professional Dashboard once you have them.
Which format earns the most on Facebook?
Per view, longer videos with ads usually pay most, because they show several ads. Reels and photo posts pay less per view but can reach far more people. The bars below the calculator compare formats on your own rates.
Do all my views earn money?
No. Views from countries where the program is not available, from content that breaks Meta's monetization policies, or on reused material that is not yours usually earn nothing. The eligible views setting lets you account for that.
How do I join the program?
Meta has rolled the program out by invitation and through the Professional Dashboard, with eligibility rules about your country, following, original content and policy compliance. Check the monetization section of your dashboard to see whether you can join and what it pays.
Why did my Facebook earnings drop this month?
Ad prices fall after the holidays, reach changes from month to month, and content flagged as unoriginal or low quality can stop earning. Compare views and earnings per 1,000 views separately to see which one moved.
Is this tool from Meta?
No. It is an independent estimate for planning. Your dashboard is the only source of your real earnings.
