Mediavine earnings calculator
Mediavine pays per visit, and the amount swings with your niche, where your readers live and the time of year. Enter your monthly sessions, the session RPM you see or expect, and how much of your audience comes from the US, UK, Canada and Australia, and this calculator estimates what a month of traffic is worth. It then projects the next 12 months with the January slump and the Q4 rush built in, so you can plan around real seasonal swings.
The next 12 months
Your traffic grown at the rate you set, with a typical ad-rate pattern applied to each month. Expect the strongest income from October to December and a sharp drop when budgets reset in January.
What more traffic would earn
The same niche, audience mix and rates at different traffic levels. Income grows in a straight line with sessions, so this shows what each step up is worth before any rate increase.

How Mediavine earnings are estimated
Mediavine reports most results as session RPM: what you earn for every 1,000 visits. The estimate starts from that figure for your best-paying readers, blends in the lower rate for everyone else, then adjusts for the time of year.
The seasonal pattern is a typical one for display ads, scaled so that its 12 months average out to your RPM. Your own history is the best guide once you have a full year of data.
Blend your audience
Readers from the US, UK, Canada and Australia earn the full rate. Everyone else earns the share you set.
blended RPM = session RPM × (tier-one share + (1 − tier-one share) × other readers earn)
Apply the month
Each month gets a seasonal factor, from about 0.7 in January to about 1.4 in December.
month RPM = blended RPM × seasonal factor
Turn sessions into income
Divide sessions by 1,000 and multiply by the month's RPM.
monthly earnings = sessions ÷ 1,000 × month RPM
Convert to pageview RPM
Useful for comparing with other ad networks that quote per pageview.
pageview RPM = month RPM ÷ pages per session
Project the year
Grow sessions by your monthly growth rate and apply each month's factor in turn, starting from the month you picked.
sessions next month = sessions × (1 + growth)
Mediavine earnings questions
How much does Mediavine pay per 1,000 sessions?
It depends mostly on niche and where your readers live. Lifestyle and food sites with a mainly US audience often see session RPMs in the $20 to $35 range, finance and home improvement can go higher, and sites with a largely international audience can sit below $10. Your own dashboard figure is always a better input than any average.
What is the difference between session RPM and pageview RPM?
Session RPM is what you earn per 1,000 visits, however many pages each visitor reads. Pageview RPM is what you earn per 1,000 pages viewed. Mediavine leans on session RPM because a reader who clicks through three posts sees more ads, so session RPM rewards good internal linking while pageview RPM can hide it.
Why does my Mediavine income drop so much in January?
Advertisers spend heavily from October to December for holiday shopping, then cut budgets sharply when the new year starts. The same traffic can earn 40 percent or more less in January than in December. The calculator applies a typical seasonal pattern so you can plan for the dip instead of being surprised by it.
How many sessions do I need to join Mediavine?
Mediavine's main program has for a long time asked for around 50,000 sessions a month, and its Journey program is aimed at smaller, growing sites. Requirements change, so check Mediavine's current criteria before you apply. Traffic quality matters too: mostly organic visitors from search and a good share of US readers make approval easier.
Why does audience location matter so much?
Advertisers pay the most to reach readers in the US, and then the UK, Canada and Australia. A visitor from a lower-spending market might earn a third of what a US visitor earns or less. Two blogs with the same traffic can have very different incomes just because of where their readers are.
How can I raise my Mediavine RPM?
Write more content that ranks with US readers, link related posts so visitors read more than one page, and avoid layouts that hide ads below very short posts. Seasonal content that peaks in Q4, such as gift guides or holiday recipes, also lines up your best traffic with your best rates.
Is this calculator affiliated with Mediavine?
No. It is an independent estimate built from typical session RPMs and seasonal patterns. Real payouts depend on your ad settings, site speed, audience and the advertising market in a given month, so treat the result as a planning range rather than a promise.
